CBD (Cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis sativa family. Cannabis sativa has recorded many uses throughout history from industrial fiber, seed oil, food and other uses in different cultures. CBD is a compound found primarily in the flowers and leaves of the Cannabis Sativa plant. It’s one of many powerful cannabinoids found in Cannabis.

Hemp and Marijuana are both species of Cannabis SativaHemp is the ‘non stoner’ brother of Marijuana. It is rich in Cannabinoids and Terpenes, with next to no THC, whereas Marijuana is rich in THC, the psychoactive compound of the plant, that causes the ‘high’. Therefore Hemp is completely safe for people of all ages and their pets.

The two are completely different products derived from different parts of the Hemp Plant.

Hemp Seed Oil is derived from the Seeds of the plant, whereas Whole Hemp Oil/Extract is from the flowers, leaves and stalks.  Hemp Seed Oil is a great source of Omega 3 & 6, Essential fatty acids, that is great on salads etc. but does not have the beneficial properties  you can find Hemp seed oil (commonly referred to as Hemp Oil) on the shelves at your local Coles, Woolworths and in most supermarkets and Service stations. Hemp Seed Oil is used on salads and soups.

CBD Oil (also known as Cannabis Oil, Full Spectrum, broad Spectrum, Hemp Extract, Raw Hemp Oil or Medical Marijuana) is extracted for medical use for its cannabinoid profile. CBD Oil is taken orally or topically. Knowing the difference between the two products are essential, usually the price is a good indication.

Will CBD products cause positive results for cannabis/ marijuana in the workplace drug testing ?

No, workplace drug screening tests for THC not CBD.  Both onsite and confirmatory tests in the laboratory, tests for THC compound, as this is the psychoactive compound that causes the high.

The Whole hemp oil does not contain THC, therefore safe in drug tests.

Saliva tests

Random roadside drug testing uses saliva samples to detect illicit drugs.

The Whole hemp oil does not contain THC therefore safe when tested.

Roadside saliva tests can detect drugs that contain:

  • THC (Delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol): the psychoactive component in cannabis that gives people a ‘high’
  • methamphetamine: found in drugs such as ’speed’, ’base’, ‘ice’ and ‘crystal meth’
  • MDMA: also commonly known as ecstasy

No, it cannot. CBD is a phytocannabinoid that is non-psychotoxic (it does not result in feelings of euphoria)

Our Whole Hemp Plant extract (full spectrum cbd oil) has a very minute amount of THC in the whole plant. Under 0.03mg. Therefore safe and non toxic for both humans and animals.
